Built Different. Built to Last.
69 Years of Innovation
From the first commercially successful motion-sensor lighting to the first LED-lit subway tunnel, we've been pioneering lighting technology since 1957.
Vertically Integrated Manufacturing
In-house plastic injection molding, tooling, engineering, and LED assembly — all under one roof in Central Islip, NY. No outsourcing. No compromises.
6 Specialized Markets
Purpose-built solutions for transit, construction, commercial, healthcare, life sciences, and correctional environments. Not generic fixtures — engineered systems.
American-Made, American-Supported
BABA/BAA compliant. Union made. Local sales reps nationwide. Direct engineering support from the people who designed your fixtures.

NYC Subway Enhanced Station Initiative
When the MTA needed to modernize lighting across 15 subway stations, they turned to Clear-Vu. Our team designed, prototyped, and deployed over 20 unique LED fixture products — each engineered for the harsh underground environment. The project includes three-step DALI emergency backup systems and clearNET wireless monitoring across every station.
The transit tunnel lighting library
Three engineering-grade whitepapers and a published op-ed laying out where NFPA 130 falls short, why battery chemistry matters underground, and what "driverless" LED really means for a 25-year procurement.
The Hidden Liability in Your Tunnels
Why legacy emergency lighting can't meet modern NFPA 130 expectations — and how leading agencies are bundling upgrades into capital projects already underway.

NiMH vs. lithium-ion vs. NiCd in the highest-stakes environment. How a battery fails matters as much as how it performs — especially underground.

“Transit tunnel lighting standards need to catch up.”
A published call to treat NFPA 130 as a starting point, not a finish line — with lessons drawn from 9/11, Sandy 2012, WMATA 2015, and BART 2024.
